and now... Our Exciting Kumquat Experience
So we went grocery shopping last night and Dave found KUMQUATS! He used to always use the term kumquat in sentances weirdly apparently and he didn't know what they looked like! So we bought two of them to see what they were like! The girl at the till couldn't figure out the code for them and she and people in line were saying how they'd heard they were really tastey! Anyway, she gave them to us for free because we were only getting two, so they probably wouldn't have cost too much anyway. We got home and I looked up how to eat one (Isn't the internet amazing?) and found out you're supposed to eat it like a grape!
I'll walk you through the experience with us:

Here's Dave holding up our beautiful kumquats.

Here's Dave taking the stem out of one of the kumquats.

Washing the kumquat.

First bite of the kumquat! Mmmmm looks like it's goooood!

Immediately after that last shot... (we found out the skin tastes exactly like you're eating orange peel... really strong... but the inside seemed to taste pretty good)

If you hadn't noticed Mollie in the last few pictures, here's a picture of what she's thinking! (though I will have you note we tried to feed her some and she wouldn't eat it!)

Dave, still attempting to eat it but finding something....

A rather LARGE seed for such a small fruit. (We discovered 8 such seeds per kumquat!!)

After Dave testing the Kumquat waters, I learned from his experience and roughly peeled my kumquat.
The verdict? Umm.... they're OKAY... I don't think we'll be getting them again though.
*Special thanks to our check out lady for making this free kumquat experience possible.
